Painted for the Layll Bay Surf Club ART for the SEA gala event and auction
Artists were asked to create pieces of art out of actual materials extracted from the old club house before demolition. I chose to paint one of the old doors which turned out to be a challenging task. They were so heavy I had to paint landscape.
I loved the look for the peeling paint and rust so decided to keep some of its original beauty.
This piece is quite experimental for me. I used watercolor pencils for the outline by mistake, but this happy accident lead me to paint him in yellow.
